My Approach To Coaching

By establishing rapport quickly I allow clients to explore a range of thoughts enabling them to understand issues and how to develop solutions. I am regarded as being a considered and empathetic listener, using my extensive business and personal experience to bring logic and structure to a conversation.

“Howard let me ‘go to town’ and run through everything. I really did open up on our call. He helped me see that the things I was telling myself were untrue and helped me discover evidence to support that” Marketing Agency Owner Client

“Working with Howard was a great opportunity for me to talk things over with someone else other than my family/ friends or workmates. It helped me listen to myself and therefore, understand the issues more myself.” Business Owner Client

Coaching which produces results

I favour a solutions-focused approach to coaching. I will work with you to unlock your potential, become more productive and more satisfied and to help you make important decisions.

“Howard, I just wanted to say thank you for your help during the coaching sessions. It helped me appreciate many aspects of myself as positives rather than weaknesses, for example being kind to people, listening to people. You helped to counter my fears, and therefore, be more confident in myself, in my work and in my relations with other people at work.”

Coaching Accreditation

I am accredited with a qualification in Foundation in Coaching Practice. The course holds the European Quality Award (EQA) conferred by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC).

“Howard in working with you I have always found you to be clear on who you are and who you want to be as coach, you had clarity early on in the programme in that you wanted to use a solutions focused approach.”
Dr Caroline Horner, Director i-Coach Academy

Foundation in Coaching Practice

Throughout the course we learnt to understand a variety of coaching techniques, delivered over 40 hours of 1-to-1 coaching, were reviewed when coaching peers, had mentor sessions, endured a nerve-wracking day of observed coaching and finished with an essay outlining our self-reflections and experiences, our values and how we will use this understanding when coaching in future.

“There is a fluidity and naturalness to Howard’s rapport building which creates a safe space for the client to do some reflecting.”
